Why do you think the Christian population has gone down?

In my opinion, christianity is on the decrease because we are living in an era of science and technology, and we have access to a range of theories that may disprove a lot of what the Bible says or stands for. And the world has become more lenient on whether or not you’re religious if you look back 100 years ago religion is looked at much more differently in general and is almost expected of every family. Nowadays it doesn’t seem as important as it once did to a large number of the population especially in the West.

My personal experience with christianity …

Is that i have a religious mum and she does try to get us involved like asking if we want to go to church but its not something me and my siblings are particularly interested in. I go to church once a year during Christmas time and i do enjoy Christmas celebrations and holidays and understand why they are there and what they’re about, but personally it’s not for me.

Producing 1 Blog Task: Producer Profile

A producer should have many skills to effectively use in order to create a finished product. Such skills include leadership, excellent communication, time management and extensive knowledge of storytelling. A producer must be able to prepare a budget and select suitable crew and suppliers and work effectively under pressure. The role of the producer is the most important in a project and should be taken seriously in order to achieve a high quality product.

Steven Spielberg is an American director, producer and screenwriter at 71 years of age. Being one of the most influential producers of our time, he has had a massive impact on cinema by producing iconic films such as E.T, Jurassic Park, Jaws and Schindler’s List. Spielberg has been known to be “wisely assertive” which is a valuable trait in a producer role. Discipline and focus are the true keys to his success. Without these, many of the tasks Steven begins will remain unfinished and he will fail to realize the true fruits of his abilities. (www.celebrities-galore.com)” To compare my skills to his, I would say we both have the creativity to produce a high quality film or product; but his natural leadership skills are way more valued.  I think it’s important to learn such skills from producers because it may come in handy later on working on projects such as TV and radio production. I would like to know what it takes to have the ability to finish a product by disciplining myself and

Is Going to College Worth it?: VICE Podcast essay by Annabella Skinner

The VICE podcast ‘Is Going to College Worth it?’ is hosted by Keihan Salam and features journalist and author Anya Kamanetz, where they explore the advantages and disadvantages of going to ‘college’ or as we like to call it, university. It is 58 minutes long. There are many different factors discussed in the podcast that offered an interesting argument such as how the government may not be offering generous loans to students, the cost of university and funding of professors. An argument discussed is how it should be free for all students, and another focuses on how many students actually finish and graduate from their degrees – which leads back to the question ‘is it worth it?’

What I like about the podcast is that the discussion is intelligent and complex with two different perspectives and it is easy to listen to; they both speak formally in a calm manner and are both confident in what they are saying. The host asks thought provoking sentences and Kamanetz replies with well thought out answers. An interesting fact I liked from this podcast that I will take with me  is that the outstanding student loan debt in America is over 1 trillion dollars which is more than credit card debt.

I wanted to know if this was a relatively new subject for podcasts but it seems lots of other podcasts have has episodes on this exact topic. To name a few, the Joe Budden Podcast, CrewCast Podcast, SwampED and SchoolSucks Podcast all discuss the question ‘is going to college worth it?’ This isn’t to say there arent many different valid points and arguments in each of these podcasts, but most of the main topics covered have most likely been spoken about already. In conclusion I think this VICE podcast was educational and structured very well. There were no awkward pauses and it was a constant flowing discussion the entire way through.
